2021 Vintage Gold Cup Won by Paul & Danny Cayard

Paul and Danny Cayard have earned another Star Class Gold Wreath defeating Joe Londrigan and Phil Toth in a tie breaker after each finished the six races with one throw out finish with nine points. The fleet of 21 boats featured former Olympians Cayard and Reynolds, four Star World Champions Cayard, Londrigan, Reynolds and MacCausland along with numerous Continental Champions.

The four-day event is scheduled each Fall and held at Gull Lake, Michigan near Kalamazoo. Sailors compete in wooden Star Class boats generally built before 1975 and beautifully restored often using modern performance rigging. A separate category of classic wooden Star Boats featuring wooden masts and booms are able to compete as well.

About Vintage Gold Cup: The annual event is held at Gull Lake Yacht Club in Richland, Michigan and hosted by the Gull Lake Star Fleet. It is sailed in beautifully restored wooden Star Class boats with either modern rigging or classic wooden masts and booms.
